Early Life

Norman Ryan was born in Toronto, Ontario, on May 25, 1935. He was the youngest of four children. His father was a violent alcoholic, and his mother was a prostitute. Ryan's childhood was filled with abuse and neglect.

At the age of 13, Ryan ran away from home and began living on the streets. He quickly fell into a life of crime, and by the age of 18, he was a hardened criminal.

Criminal Career

Ryan's criminal career began with petty theft. However, he quickly graduated to more serious crimes, such as armed robbery and kidnapping. In 1967, he robbed a bank in Toronto and killed a security guard. This was the first of many murders that Ryan would commit.

In 1970, Ryan kidnapped a wealthy businessman and held him for ransom. The businessman was eventually released unharmed, but Ryan was arrested and charged with kidnapping. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Escape from Prison

In 1973, Ryan escaped from prison. He was on the run for two years, during which time he committed a string of robberies and murders. In 1975, he was recaptured and sentenced to life in prison.

Death

Norman Ryan died in prison on December 23, 2019, at the age of 84. He was one of Canada's most notorious criminals, and his story is a fascinating look into the mind of a criminal mastermind.
