The Rhodesian Bush War was a bitter and bloody conflict that raged in the southern African nation of Rhodesia from 1964 to 1979. The war was fought between the white-minority government of Rhodesia and the black nationalist guerrillas of the Zimbabwe African National Union (ZANU) and the Zimbabwe African People's Union (ZAPU).

One of the most important elements of the Rhodesian war effort was the National Service program, which conscripted white Rhodesian men into the military for two years of service. National Service officers played a vital role in the war, serving in a variety of roles, including infantry, artillery, and intelligence.

This book tells the story of one such National Service officer, John Smith. Smith was a young man when he was conscripted into the Rhodesian Army in 1976. He was sent to fight in the bush war, where he saw some of the most intense fighting of the conflict.

Smith's story is a gripping account of the Rhodesian Bush War. He writes about the horrors of war, the camaraderie of his fellow soldiers, and the sacrifices that were made by both sides of the conflict.

This book is a must-read for anyone interested in the Rhodesian Bush War or in the history of Africa. It is a powerful and moving story that sheds new light on one of the most important conflicts of the Cold War.
