My dearest children,

I write to you today on the first anniversary of the terrorist attacks that took place in our country one year ago. I know that you were too young to fully understand what happened that day, but I want you to know that it was a day that changed our world forever.

I remember that morning as if it were yesterday. I was getting ready for work when I heard the news on the radio. At first, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I thought it must be a joke. But then I saw the images on the TV, and I knew that it was real.

I was horrified. I couldn't believe that something like this could happen in our country. I thought that we were safe here. But that day, I learned that we are not immune to violence and hatred.

I immediately called your mother and told her what had happened. We were both so scared. We didn't know what was going to happen next. We didn't know if we were going to be safe.

But even in the midst of our fear, we knew that we had to be strong for you. We had to show you that we were still here for you, and that we would always love you.

We hugged you close and told you that we loved you. We told you that everything was going to be okay. And even though we didn't know if it was true, we believed it.

We spent the rest of the day watching the news and trying to make sense of what had happened. We talked about the victims and their families. We talked about the heroes who had risked their lives to save others.

And we talked about the future. We talked about how we were going to rebuild our lives and our country. We talked about how we were going to make sure that something like this never happened again.

That night, we went to bed scared, but we also went to bed hopeful. We knew that we had a long road ahead of us, but we also knew that we would get through it together.

In the year since that fateful day, we have made a lot of progress. We have rebuilt our lives and our country. We have made our communities safer. And we have never forgotten the victims of 9/11.

But we also know that there is still a lot of work to be done. We still need to defeat the terrorists who attacked us. We still need to make our world a more just and peaceful place.

And we need to teach our children about what happened on 9/11. We need to teach them about the importance of tolerance and understanding. We need to teach them about the power of hope.

I know that you are still young, but I hope that you will never forget what happened on 9/11. I hope that you will always remember the victims of that day. And I hope that you will always be inspired by the heroes who risked their lives to save others.

I also hope that you will always be proud to be Americans. We are a strong and resilient people. We have overcome many challenges in our history, and we will overcome this one too.

I love you more than words can say.
