Early Life and Career

Henry Ford was born on July 30, 1863, on a farm in Dearborn, Michigan. He was the son of Irish immigrants, and he grew up in a family of farmers and blacksmiths. Ford showed an early interest in mechanics, and he built his first steam engine at the age of 15. After working as a machinist and engineer, Ford founded the Ford Motor Company in 1903.

Mass Production and the Model T

Ford's first major breakthrough came in 1913, when he introduced the Model T. The Model T was a simple, affordable car that was designed for the masses. It was the first car to be mass-produced on an assembly line, and it quickly became the best-selling car in the world. By the end of the 1920s, Ford had sold over 15 million Model Ts.

Ford's mass production methods not only made cars more affordable, but they also helped to create a new middle class in America. The Model T allowed millions of people to own a car for the first time, and it helped to drive the growth of the American economy.
